Ok. So the website has yet to be updated for 2008 and we are into 2009. So here are a few pics from this year's Bowen riding. We have 15 trails, or so (I've kind of lost count now), most of them all natural and steep, very steep. Lots of fun to be had. I'm feeling a little bit like a hermit these days because I rarely leave the island for anything other than errands, work, and the occasional family and/or friends visit. But when you consider the amount of trails I've put in here and the amount of potential projects to build on these trails - did I mention there is tons of cedar and the access is awesome. Anyhow, here is a few picturess:
This is the opening bridge of Mr. Dress-up. This trail will be my main project for 09 and will consist of the longest elevated logride/skinny/suspension bridge that I have ever built (and I've built some of the longest and biggest I'm sure). It's just a super epic area that I've contemplated in for the past five or six years. There is tons of cedar, it's totally wide open, a nice natural log ride, and it's super accessible. Hence I am compelled to build something extrodinarily massive, and of course fun to ride (if you have the necessary physical and mental skills). Of course we will be putting a nice gate at the beginning (not that I've ever seen anyone up there in the past five years). Quite appropriately the name of this openning bridge (of the trail Mr. Dress-up) is called "the Creeper".
